We are proud to remember those serving past and present and prayed for those present and past affected by war.

Last year the school raised a massive amount for the British Legion's Poppy Appeal and we hope to beat it this year. We will report the amount as soon as it is confirmed. Children and staff each created their own poppy and planted it at the front of our school, after our Remembrance Assembly on the 11th November.

Mrs Clayton, the teacher who was inspired by the memorial at the Tower of London, arranged the event and wore her Dad’s medal with pride. Mrs Clayton's class led the assembly, during which the Site Manager, Mr. Davies, who is a retired soldier, laid a school wreath. The day has been full of memories for all our staff and the children have learnt all about the wars and the soldiers who fought them.

Letter from Buxton Food Bank.....

"We went to the school this morning and there was an AMAZING amount of food. We have sorted all the food into date categories and will now be working on sorting it again into food groups. But, after a quick assessment of what was collected we reckon there was enough to feed 16 families for a week.
Which is just fantastic!

We will be sending a newsletter to all the schools, churches and other groups that have contributed during the harvest festival period with further details of how your contributions will help and the difference these efforts make to the lives of local families, but for now I'd like to pass on a heartfelt thanks to the school and all your families.

All the best,

Lizzie
